For CPAs, attorneys, bankers and advisors

When a client asks what the business is worth

When an owner you advise begins discussing a sale, retirement, or an unsolicited offer, we prepare a written, confidential valuation assessment for them at no cost. You remain the advisor who knew whom to call.

What your client receives

A written assessment of the business: an estimated value range grounded in current published transaction data for their trade, the buyers actively acquiring in it, an assessment of how the business appears from the outside, and what would move the number. Directional rather than an appraisal, and labeled as such. No cost, no obligation, nothing to sign, and a same-day response when you make the introduction.

Alongside you, never around you

A sale is not a transfer of your client. It is more work for you, not less: transaction preparation runs through their financials, tax planning determines what they retain, and the purchase agreement requires their counsel at the table. Owners retain their own advisors through a sale, and those who attempt to proceed without them generally discover the cost at closing.

  • CPAs: clean, well-documented financials are most of what a buyer pays for. The preparation work is yours, and we will tell your client so.
  • Attorneys: the letter of intent, the purchase agreement, the non-compete, the escrow terms. We compare offers; your client executes nothing without you.
  • Bankers and wealth advisors: a sale is the largest liquidity event of your client’s life, and the proceeds remain in your book, not ours.

Referral arrangements

Every profession has its own rules governing referral relationships, and we treat that as a feature rather than an obstacle. Some partners cannot accept anything beyond an acknowledgment and would not wish to. Others can, with the disclosures their rules require. Whatever your situation permits, we will put in writing before anything proceeds. In every case the durable part of the arrangement is the same: your client is treated in a manner that reflects well on you, and you are kept informed of the outcome. Partners tell us that silence after a referral is why they stopped referring to the last firm. You will not experience silence from us.

The relationship runs in both directions. Our engagements require careful CPAs and transaction counsel, and we refer that work to the professionals who work with us.

Make an introduction

Tell us who you are and, if there is a client on your mind, a sentence about their situation. No names are required until you are comfortable. You will hear from us the same day.
